We finally visited London proper today, 6 days after touching down in UK! But it was such a warm warm day.. totally wrong choice to wear long sleeves... many of us are actually much more tanned now than when we arrived!

We left the house early, slightly after 8.30am, and it was oredi shining brightly! We took the usual bus 81 to Hounslow... a long 45min ride... then changed to the tube to get to central London.

From there it was a stroll around sunny (extremely scorching indeed) London... drinking in all the sights and sounds for the 1st time, while being drained of our energy at the same time! We were all so excited lor, stepping out into the London bustle for the first time. Cant rem how long we spent snapping away at evrthing in sight just outside the tube station!

For the next few hours we found ourselves soaking in the sunshine and walking around... started to get very hungry and exhausted, and finally headed for Chinatown for (yeah u guessed it) Chinese buffet! Only this time it was so so much more disappointing than the Slough one! Only a few dishes, and clearly they were out to make profits and cut cost! Cos the entire selection was full of kan tang and watever meat dey had dey made sure alot of onions were around as well, and the meat was coated in a think layer of batter! Blehz very very lousy buffet, all of us agreed it was. Mr Wu's the name... avoid it if u're in the area!

Walking along the Thames, we actually saw plenty of pleasant old men fishing! Pleasant cos they were generous with their smiles and kept showing us what they caught! And we saw one of em in action, capturing an eel! He had his dog with him, and it certainly got very excited whenever the fishing line twitched! Haha pictures of old man and his dog in my foto webbie!

Oh and London certainly has its fair share of unconventional vehicles! Saw quite a few limosines... super super long... dunno how dey turn corners... dun thk dey can do u-turns! Saw some cool street cleaning trucks, a monster truck, and some old old vintage cars! Of cos not forgetting our dear old London bus and London taxi! Haha here's one of the limos and do go to my foto page for more!

Finally couldnt stand walking in the the anymore, so took the tube again to Knightsbridge, where Harrods beckoned! Went in to take a walk around, but wasnt much impressed leh... the whole place seemed very made-up, to be so artificially high-class and royal... and the moment we stepped in the guard stopped us and said we were in too big a group! den asked us to break up into groups of 4! duh! if we broke up into small groups and 1 group walk behind the other den wld be "legal"?? haha the next guard we met hollered at us to remove our backpacks and hold it in our hands... aiyoh go inside shopping dis cannot dat cannot... totally not at ease! Unimpressed with the much heralded Harrods leh... apart from the amazing (-ly high) prices!

The guys had broken away from the gals by then, and being the non-shoppers we're, we were out of the building after 15min. Found a nice cosy cafe opposite Harrods, and went in to pamper ourselves abit. haha yup dats rite... gals indulge in shopping, we guys prefer food ;p

Having been saving hard since we arrived, we finally cut loose the strings of our purses and treated ourselves to a nice English afternoon tea! I had a iced coffee topped with ice-cream, Jieli had a choco sundae, Albert a sorbet sundae, Charles a nice cuppa hot choco, and Jack had a hot choc fudge cake with ice cream! We were stil so thirsty from the walking and the heat that we kept asking for more water. But when it comes to service, the British really do take their time! hey but again when we asked for the bill, it came within a minute! And they were surprisingly fast in coming back for the cash too! Well... muz get used to their culture ;p

After a nice long chat over afternoon tea, we finally met up with the gals again, to trudge our way back where we came from... long tube ride and long bus ride back to little peaceful Colnbrook!
Still pretty full from the buffet this noon (not nice, but still managed to stuff enuff to stay full long enuff!) so we get to save on dinner! As if we were not tired enuff, Jack and Jieli and I still went to play some 1-on-1-on-1 football out on our lawn! Which is y I'm so very aching now, and which is y I'm perhaps substandard with my typing... sorrie abt that! Really need a massage now ah!! Well.. mebbe a nice long bath and some good rest will do too...
Gonna end here then... still going running tmr morning lor! Haha u guys enjoy the pictures!
